As I’ve said, few things intrigue me as much as watching an untempered, unfiltered, unedited stream of consciousness from people experiencing RubyQuest (or NanQuest, or DiveQuest) for the first time. It’s a treat.

That’s why as author I’m issuing a sort of open call to encourage just that. A call to all the quest fans new and old!

Do you love Ruby/Nan/DiveQuest? Do you have a friend who might love it too, who hasn’t read it yet?
This call goes out to those who haven’t read the quests themselves as well, in case you’re reading this directly.
If you can get that person to do a blind-read of the quest and record their thoughts as they go - via tumblr liveblogging, twitter tweets, livestream recordings, personal IMs to you, anything really - then I will draw something for you and your friend.
Now it’ll just be a simple sketch, on par with the average panel you might find in Ruby/Nanquest, but the theme can be from any quest scene/moment of your choice.

The stipulations?

• It must be this person’s absolute first time with the quest. If you’ve read them before, you don’t qualify. Find a friend! And don’t try to fudge it. I’ll know.
• The reader should be going in as close to blind as possible. If they haven’t heard of the quest, tell them as little as you can to pique their interest. If they’ve heard of it or seen it on tumblr or what have you, that’s fine, but the less they know, the better. Ideally this person will not know the various plot twists or reveals yet (you know what they are!), and in the case of RubyQuest, especially not the ending!
• The reactions must be recorded as they happen! Many formats are possible, but a review or summary written after the fact is not the same. Reflecting at the end of the story is nice, but I’m looking for the raw stream of consciousness here. It precludes speculation, but more importantly, it ties everything down in a neat little package. I prefer it messy.

Once it’s all done, show it to me via Ask inbox and let me know what bit-of-quest you’d like drawn! I’ll get you out a sketch as quick as I’m able.
This is just for fun. It’s not a contest!

Addendum: If you haven’t read the quests before, then of course you can do this yourself! But as I said, no fudging it.
